As a family system with members from three different continents and cultures, we have had some
interesting discussions around the values we present as our guiding principles. We believe good
business is more than just making profit from keeping our guests satisfied. Regarding values, we are
also aware of the basic human needs in a surrounding world, where lack of equality seems to create
a wide range of challenges for humans, companies, societies, and countries. From our perspective,
the best way to deal with this is to make sure, that our business also benefits hard-working staff
members, the local community, and the country at large. With this broadened perspective we are
dedicated to maintain integrity and to be transparent around our values and agendas.
Based on the awareness above, we state the following values as our guiding principles:

We are also aware of the discussions and challenges from burning fossil fuels and the global impact
it has on our climate, as well as the fact that Africa owns 40% of the globe’s potential for solar power
yet it only inhabits 1.48% of the total global capacity for electricity generation of solar energy (IRENA
“Renewable Capacity Statistics”, 2021). With this awareness, we have an agenda of being a role
model for a transition to so-called green energy. From the beginning, our hotel rooms- and apart-
ments are supplied with solar heated water. We also have a 20-kw solar electrical system, and are
dedicated to extending it, to be fully self-sufficient to cater for all our electrical supply needs.
